Film backdrop “Pragser Tal valley”

The Italian television series “Un passo dal cielo” was filmed here

Pragser Tal valley is the backdrop for the Italian television series “Un passo dal cielo” with Terence Hill playing forester Pietro. Forester Pietro is an excellent mountaineer who climbs even the most challenging peaks. Pietro lost his wife in a tragic accident on a rock face and has since been living a secluded life directly on the shores of lake Pragser Tal valley, which, in the film, is called Lago Innichen / San Canido.

The forester’s lodge of the Corps of Foresters also houses the local police station. At the beginning of the series a new police inspector is deployed to the station. He is the Neapolitan Commissario Nappi, a man of the city, who is confronted with new challenges in Alta Pusteria. Because of the proximity of the police and the Corps of Foresters in the same building, Pietro is repeatedly involved in police crime investigations. In turn, city boy Commissario Nappi is confronted by the reality of nature. Pietro’s friend and colleague is the former lumberjack Felicino Scotto, known as “Roccia” (rock). Roccia’s sister is Assunta, who is played by internationally renowned soprano Katia Ricciarelli.
In 2017 the Italian actor Daniele Liotti took the part of the forestry commander Pietro. In the movie he is now representing the leading part of the forest warden Francesco.
